350 MHz und 256 MiB RAM für Windows 7

Mit nur wenigen Tweaks konnte ich Windows 7 für den Alt-PC auf eine weitere Hardwarereduktion vorbereiten. Es wurden weitere Dienste deaktiviert, die CPU durch eine halb so schnelle ausgetauscht und ein Speicherriegel entfernt.

Damit läuft Windows 7 jetzt auf einem PC mit

  • Pentium II-Prozessor @ 350 MHz
  • 256 MiB RAM

PII-Auslastung 

CPU und RAM haben immer noch Reserven für Programme übrig. Solange RAM frei ist, verhalten die sich ähnlich wie im vorigen System mit 700 MHz-CPU und etwas mehr RAM. Für die Leistung scheint derzeit die Größe des Arbeitsspeichers besonders wichtig zu sein.
